About Domma CMS.
A content management system for small businesses and the people who build their sites. Pages are written in Markdown with shortcodes for layouts, forms and data, and the admin has Tools for the rest of the day's work - email, contacts, bookings, a shop, a blog. It runs on Node, stores content as files, and needs no database unless you want one. See the features.
No. Content, settings and collections are stored as files, so a site needs nothing but Node. MongoDB is optional. Self-hosted sites can configure their own MongoDB connection. On managed hosting, the MongoDB Adapter Pro Tool provides a dedicated database. Collections can move between files and MongoDB.
Run npx domma-cms@latest update in the site's folder. It backs up first, keeps your content, settings and Tools, and replaces only the engine. Add --dry-run to see what it would do. Sites we host are updated for you. What's New lists every release.
No. Calls run in the browser, on your own site - camera, microphone, screen sharing, chat and a waiting room, for up to six people. There is nothing to install and no outside service. Online meetings come with Calendar, calls in a conversation with Messages, and online appointments with Booking Pro.
Yes. We offer paid migration help. We first review the pages, posts, images, URLs, theme, plugins and forms, then agree what is included and send a price before work starts. Every site is different, so the work is scoped individually. You can also use our free migration guide and step-by-step tutorial, or ask for an assessment.
Search engines and SEO.
Yes, with SEO Pro. It uses your own Google Cloud client, so the figures go from Google straight to your site. You see searches, clicks and positions in the admin, the searches worth working on, and whether a page is in Google. Connect Google Search Console walks through it.
Yes. Every site serves /sitemap.xml and /robots.txt from the built-in SEO Tool, with published, public pages and blog posts. Drafts, private pages and pages hidden from search engines are left out. SEO Pro adds rules, a video sitemap, a site map for visitors ([sitemap /]) and sends the sitemap to Google for you.
With SEO Pro and Search Console connected, click Send to Google on the SEO screen's Sitemaps tab. After that it goes again by itself whenever pages are published, changed, renamed or deleted - once a day at most. Without SEO Pro, add sitemap.xml once in Search Console > Sitemaps; Google reads it again on its own.
A way to tell search engines the moment a page changes, instead of waiting for them to crawl. SEO Pro sends every published, changed, renamed or deleted page to Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep within a minute. Google does not take part in IndexNow; it reads your sitemap.
Search Console's Domain property is verified with a DNS TXT record at your domain - add it, wait a few minutes, then click Verify in Search Console. To verify with a meta tag instead, SEO Pro's Indexing tab takes the codes for Google, Bing, Pinterest and Yandex and puts the tags on your home page.
Tools and Pro Tools.
Built-in and free Tools come with every site: SEO, Analytics, Contacts, Notes, Todo, Booking, Support, the Shop, the Blog, Docs, Messages, Theme Roller and more. Pro Tools add more to them - SEO Pro, Booking Pro, Docs Pro and others - added one at a time on Hosted, or all included on Pro. If a Pro licence lapses, the Tool pauses and the free Tool it builds on carries on. See all the Tools.
Yes, with the free Booking Tool. People book you, your team, rooms or equipment from a booking page or the [booking /] shortcode, with opening hours, days off, buffers and notice. They get confirmation and reminder emails with a link to move or cancel. Booking Pro adds online appointments as a video call, classes with waiting lists and more.
Yes, with Cards, a Pro Tool. Pick a design, write your message, and send it now, on a date, on each contact's birthday or on the days of your Calendar events. The email carries a picture of the card, and the card opens from an envelope on its own page. Cards Pro lets other people send cards on your site, paying in credits.
Yes. Calculator is a built-in Tool with Basic and Scientific layouts, history and memory keys. It opens on its own page or in a floating panel that stays open while you move around the admin.
Getting help.
Every site has the free Support Tool in its admin. Our email, phone and hours are always on screen, and Ask for help opens a conversation with the Domma team - normal or urgent. Replies arrive in the admin and by email. You can also write to support@domma-cms.com.
The updater backs up before it changes anything, so nothing is lost. Tell us through Ask for help in the Support Tool, with the page and what you expected to see, and we will look. For a bug or an idea, the free Feedback Tool sends it straight to us and shows you what became of it.
Ask us.
Tell us about your site and what you need, and we will answer.
