Quiet to run, safe to update.
Domma CMS is a single Node process with your content in plain files. It installs with one command, updates in place without touching your work, and runs happily behind any web server - one site or a whole fleet.
One command to install
npx domma-cms my-site creates the site, installs it and runs the setup wizard. No database to set up, no build step.
Updates that keep your work
npx domma-cms@latest update backs up first, replaces only the engine, keeps your content, settings and Tools, and adds only new settings. --dry-run shows what it would do.
A cache that clears itself
Finished pages are kept ready to send, per role, and cleared the moment you change what they show. Proper cache headers mean an edit reaches visitors on their next visit.
Files, or MongoDB when you grow
Everything works on plain files. Move busy collections to MongoDB one at a time, and back again, keeping every id.
Commands for a bad day
List users, reset a password, change a role or lift a sign-in lockout from the command line when you cannot get into the admin.
Content you can version
Pages are Markdown and settings are JSON, so a site's own work fits in a Git repository - and the CMS keeps its own files out of it.
One Manager, many sites.
Every hosted Domma site - including this one - runs under the Domma CMS Manager. It starts and watches each site, rolls out updates, and handles Tool licences and switches centrally.
- Each site is its own process on its own address, with its own users and data.
- Health checks and automatic restarts if a site falls over.
- Hosted sites browse and install Pro Tools straight from their Marketplace.
- The Manager can lock a Tool's switch and send a site notices.
