Customer accounts, a Sales tab, and Takeaway
The free Shopping Cart gains customer accounts, a Sales tab and room for add-ons - and Takeaway turns it into an online ordering site.

The free Shopping Cart grew up this week, and it now runs a whole takeaway.
Customer accounts
Switch on accounts in Shop settings. Customers confirm their email, then sign in to keep their details and up to eight addresses, see every order they have placed, and delete their account whenever they like. Checkout fills itself in for a signed-in customer, and the receipt offers to create an account. Accounts need the site's email set up.
A Sales tab
See your takings for any range, by day, week or month, and where the money came from: the Shop, downloads and keys, Takeaway or other add-ons. Each period shows how customers paid, plus discounts, delivery, tax, refunds and the net figure. Download it as a CSV for your accountant.
Room for add-ons
Add-ons such as Shopping Cart Pro and Takeaway can now add their own sections to products and orders, sell lines they price themselves (a dish with its chosen extras, shown on the receipt and the packing slip), add a delivery charge, and word the receipt ("Pay when you collect"). A shop without add-ons works exactly as before.
Takeaway

Takeaway turns the Shop into an online ordering site for a takeaway or restaurant.
- A menu that knows its dishes: choices that change the price, extras, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free marks, and the 14 allergens.
- Collection, delivery or both. Delivery is set by postcode area, each with its own charge, minimum order and free-delivery threshold. Orders are for as soon as possible or a time later today.
- A kitchen screen that chimes for each new order. Accept it with a ready time or reject it with a refund, then mark it ready and collected (or out for delivery). Tickets print on standard 80 mm receipt printers.
- Keeping customers posted. An email at each step, optional Telegram updates for the kitchen and the customer, and a "Message us on WhatsApp" button.
- Busy nights: mark a dish sold out for today, limit orders per time slot, add 10 to 60 minutes when busy, or pause ordering altogether.

Takeaway is priced on application, and usually the heart of an ordering site we build with you. More about Takeaway.
Also new
- Part refunds were in last week's round-up.
- Platform commission, for sites on a hosting platform that charges one: each sale records its commission when paid, and a refund returns it. Your customers never see it.
