Showcase / A form that thinks
Interaction - FormsA form that listens to the answers.
ACME's tool finder is a three-step form built in the Form Builder with no code. It asks a follow-up question only when it matters, explains itself as you go, ends early when there is nothing more to say, and finishes with a suggestion made from your own answers.
Three ideas, all clicked together in the admin.
Page breaks make a wizard
Drop a Page Break between fields and the form becomes steps, each with its own title. Every step checks its answers before moving on, and a rule on step two can read an answer from step one.
Conditional logic shapes a field
Each field can be shown or hidden, made required, validated or given different options depending on other answers. The socket question is hidden unless "At a bench" is chosen.
Triggers act on the form
Banners, toasts, celebrations, hiding or requiring other fields, blocking the submit, ending the form early, running an Action or telling the admins. Messages can repeat answers with {{budget}}.
The budget field's trigger, as the Form Builder saves it
{
"when": {"all": [{"field": "budget", "operator": "less_than", "value": 40}]},
"then": [{
"type": "end-form",
"message": "Under £40 buys a power drill that will disappoint you...",
"finishLabel": "Finish",
"record": true
}]
}
And on the page, one line
[form name="acme-tool-finder" /]
- Everything is re-checked on the server: re-enabling a button in the browser gets a refusal, not a submission.
- Spam protection is on: a hidden honeypot, a minimum time to fill in, and at most three submissions a minute from one address.
- Answers land in Data > Forms > Submissions, with search, spam flags and CSV export.
- 18 field types, including the picture-card chooser on step one.
Enquiries, bookings, applications, surveys.
Forms are built in to every Domma site. When you need audiences, invitations and reminders on top, the Surveys Pro Tool builds on the same engine.
