Reduce motion, wherever your visitors look for it

Reduce motion gets its own Site Settings tab: put the control in the footer, a corner or the navbar, and choose what new visitors get.

Some visitors find animation distracting or even uncomfortable. Every Domma site has always offered them a Reduce motion switch in the footer. In Domma CMS 1.15 that switch gets a home of its own.

Its own tab

In System > Site Settings, the new Reduce motion tab sits beside Breadcrumbs. Choose:

  • whether the control shows at all, and what it says;
  • what a first-time visitor gets - follow their device's own setting (the kind default), full motion, or calm from the start;
  • where it sits: in the footer as before (a switch or a checkbox), as a small floating button in a corner of your choosing, or at the end of the navbar.

A floating button stays clear of the search button, Back to top and the theme switcher if they share its corner.

Nothing changes until you choose

Your site keeps its current footer switch until you save the new tab. A visitor's own choice is remembered whichever way you set it - and everything that moves on a Domma site, from swooshing cards to sliding menus, listens to it.
