A sweepstake nobody can argue with.
Sweepstake runs your office, pub or club sweepstake on your website - the World Cup, the Grand National, Eurovision, a due date, anything with a list to draw. You list the picks and set the entry fee and prizes. People enter with their name, and the website makes the draw once, fairly and on the record, then reveals it on the page.
What Sweepstake does for you
Any list of picks
Teams, horses, acts or numbers, with a group, odds and a flag or picture. Paste them in, or start from a ready-made list.
Enter with a name
People enter on the page, or you add them yourself. Names are checked for rude words.
Money shown, never taken
The pot and each prize are worked out for you. Collect the money your usual way and tick people off as paid.
Prizes your way
Up to 10 prizes: a share of the pot, a fixed amount, or not money at all - the wooden spoon.
A draw to watch
The draw is revealed on the page a row at a time, then stays as the table of who has what.
Winners straight away
Mark picks out as the event goes on and choose who won each prize. The page shows the winners and the money at once.
See it in 5 minutes
- Open Tools > Games > Sweepstake and choose New sweepstake.
- Give it a title, add the picks with Paste a list…, and set the entry fee and prizes.
- Press Practice draw to see the page as it will look after the draw.
- Set the status to Live, Save, and put
[sweepstake id="world-cup" /]on a page.
A draw anyone can check
Made once, on the record
The draw uses a random seed from the server's cryptographic random source, and keeps a record of everything that went into it. The page shows it under How this draw was made, and anyone with the record can repeat it.
Nothing quietly undone
A reset needs a reason, and the undone draw stays on the page with its seed and who had what. Rename a pick after the draw and the page shows both names, so nobody can move a pick by renaming.
Straight answers.
- No draw exists until you make it, so nobody - you included - can see who has what before then.
- Entries close the moment the draw is made, and nobody can be added or removed after it.
- People enter with a name only - no account and no email. Whether they have paid shows on the page only if you switch it on.
