What Mail Reader does for you

Three-pane reader

Folders, messages and the message itself side by side, with panes you can resize.

Several mailboxes

Add as many as you like. Each user sees only their own.

Read-only, truly

Mailboxes are opened read-only at the server, so reading never marks a message as read.

Private by default

Remote images are blocked to stop tracking pixels, and messages are shown in a sandbox with no scripts.

Passwords sealed

Mailbox passwords are encrypted on your server and never sent back to the browser.

Keyboard friendly

Try it in 5 minutes

  1. Enable Mail Reader in the Marketplace and open it from the sidebar.
  2. Press the gear and add a mailbox: your IMAP server, username and an app password.
  3. Press Test connection, then save.
  4. Pick a folder and open a message. Choose Load images only if you trust the sender.
  5. Right-click a message to copy the sender's address or add them to your contacts.

Good to know

Works with Gmail, Fastmail or your own mail server - anything with standard IMAP. Use an app password where your provider offers one.
